The Southwest Assembly, the first of the Next Generation Project, took place on October 19-21, 2006 and was co-sponsored with the John G. Tower Center for Political Studies at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. Next Generation Project Fellows focused on the importance of soft power and the limitations of hard power in the context of globalization.
