American Assembly Urban Director Nicholas Hamilton to Speak July 13th at Flanders House/UN Habitat Event

Assembly Urban Director Nicholas Hamilton will be a panelistat a seminar entitled "Regeneration of Urban Regions through Integrated Spatial and Economic Policies"  on Wednesday the 13th of July at the  Flanders House/UN Habitat event.  The debate will focus on the“Regeneration of urban regions through integrated spatial and economic policies”, using examples of Flanders (City of Genk, etc.) and the US (Legacy Cities).

The seminars is organized by The General Representation of the Government of Flanders to the U.S.A and the UN-Habitat New York Liaison Office.  This seminar -- part of a series -- is contributing to the overall debate related to the implementation of the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals and the preparations for Habitat III (Quito, October 2016, www.habitat3.org)

The main idea is to highlight spatial practices that facilitate an integrated approach to implementing the SDGs, both substantively and institutionally, bringing together US and Flemish practices.

The first event took place on Tuesday the 7th of June and focused on the "Innovative use of urban design to provide integrated solutions".
