Building on its 1993 project, "Interwoven Destinies," The American Assembly gathered experts in 1995 to identify approaches needed to increase entrepreneurship and investment in areas of need.  Participants produced a report with the aim of identifying a private-sector led set of initiatives to revitalize urban communities.  Profit was realized as the legitimate goal of private sector investment in distressed communities.
